Acer Liquid Z520 Specifications and Review

There are not many budget friendly smartphones out there that can offer a 5 inch display. This is the main goal of Acer with the recent release of their Liquid Z520 – a 4990php android device that packs a 5 inch display and a not so high-end specifications.

The Acer Liquid Z520 may not be the best lookin' phone out there but you will definitely like its textured back cover and the buttons found on the right spine. It has a a 5-inch FWVGA display that can render up to 480 by 854 pixels of resolution.

It runs Android 4.4 KitKat (confirmed Lollipop update soon) and is powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM. Other salient features include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear facing camera (voice activated), a 2-megapixel front-facing cam, 2000mAH battery (removable), dual-SIM, 8GB of storage, DTS studio sound, and a microSD card slot that can accommodate up to 32GB.

Performance wise, this phone is A-ok! The Z520 occupies a unique place in any carrier’s smartphone stable. It's obviously not designed to compete with high-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the iPhone 6 but it offers much more than its Android brethren in the same price range. It has a mediocre screen and a fast processor, but low battery life, a lot of bloatware, and a not so good photo quality held it back. 4990php
